(Self Study, 1.0 CEs) Cultural Competency and the Use of Art Therapy in the Treatment of Self Image Issues

This presentation will explore concepts and theories behind culturally competent practice, and introduce a practical art therapy intervention to effectively support the client dealing with issues of identity and self image.
Learning Objectives
1) Participants will be able to identify three influencers of compromised self image in the client.
2) Participants will be able to identify three culturally competent attitudes to employ when treating clients.
3) Participants will learn an art based intervention to treat the patient struggling with issues of identity and self image in a culturally competent way.
